Even though the company was much smaller than Fox, they were senior partners in the merge. The Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation began trading on May 31, 1935. After the merge was complete, the Vice President in Charge of Production, Zanuck, started to sign young actors who would carry the corporation for many years. Among them were Betty Grable, Carmen Miranda, Henry Fonda and Don Ameche. After World War 2, Fox overtook RKO and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Hollywood’s biggest studios, and became the third most profitable film studio.
